Civic issues
Topics getting the most attention in Clearfield City public meetings, ranked by how frequently they come up.
City Branding and Public Art
Clearfield is installing new jet statues downtown to lean into its 'Military City' roots. It’s a push to give the city a unique identity and make the downtown area feel a bit more vibrant.
Civic Conduct and Ethics
Clearfield is dealing with some major drama after an advocacy group made racist remarks toward a city council member. It’s a stark reminder of how toxic local politics has become and how it’s affecting the people we elect to represent us.
Federal Shutdown Impact
The federal shutdown is hitting Clearfield's budget twice, which could mean cuts to the local services you rely on. It’s a frustrating reminder that D.C. gridlock directly impacts our city's bottom line.
Justice Center Construction
Clearfield is building a massive new five-story Justice Center to house the local courthouse, Attorney's Office, and a secure transport tunnel straight to the jail. It's a huge project meant to streamline how the city handles public safety and legal proceedings under one roof.
Golf Course Fee Increase
Clearfield is hiking fees at the city-owned Eaglewood Golf Course to help pay for a brand-new fleet of golf carts. If you like to hit the links, expect to shell out a little extra cash next time you book a tee time.
